Uninsured Shipments
Where a shipment is not insured, Swift Signate Ltd shall not be held responsible or liable for any loss, damage of the goods, howsoever caused. In such cases, Swift Signate Ltd bears no obligation limited or otherwise to compensate or reimburse the customer for the value of the shipment. Customers are strongly advised to insure their goods prior to shipment.
Shipping Timelines and Customs
Shipping timelines are estimates and not guaranteed as exact arrival timelines is determined by airlines and carriers, SWIFT SIGNATE LTD is not liable for any delays in shipping timelines as well as spoilt or rotten items due to delays in shipping timelines. All shipments are subject to customs check both in Nigeria and destination country, SWIFT SIGNATE LTD is not liable for any removal of items deemed unfit to leave or enter into the destination country by customs (IITA)
Accurate Shipment Information
Customers must provide complete and accurate sender details, receiver details, pickup and delivery addresses, item names, item descriptions, package quantity, weight, dimensions, declared value, and any other information requested by Swift Signate Ltd. Swift Signate Ltd shall not be liable for delays, extra charges, failed delivery, customs issues, loss, or return of shipment caused by incomplete, false, misleading, or inaccurate information supplied by the customer.
Restricted, Prohibited, and Undeclared Items
Customers must not submit prohibited, illegal, hazardous, counterfeit, restricted, perishable without approval, improperly packaged, or undeclared items for shipment. Swift Signate Ltd reserves the right to refuse, hold, return, dispose of, or report any shipment that breaches carrier rules, customs rules, aviation rules, destination-country laws, or any applicable regulation. The customer remains responsible for all costs, penalties, duties, storage, returns, or losses arising from such items.
Quotes, Payments, and Receipts
A booking request is not a confirmed shipment until Swift Signate Ltd reviews the request, issues a quote or payment instruction where applicable, and confirms payment or approval. Customers are responsible for paying the correct quoted amount into the correct account and uploading a valid receipt or payment proof. Swift Signate Ltd may delay processing where payment is incomplete, unverifiable, sent to the wrong account, or not matched to the booking request.
Packaging and Handling
Customers are responsible for ensuring that goods are properly packed, protected, sealed, and suitable for the selected shipping mode. Swift Signate Ltd shall not be liable for damage, leakage, breakage, contamination, spoilage, or loss caused by poor packaging, fragile contents, unsuitable containers, or failure to disclose the nature of the goods.
Duties, Taxes, Storage, and Additional Charges
Customs duties, taxes, destination charges, inspection charges, storage charges, demurrage, rerouting fees, return fees, address correction fees, redelivery fees, and any other third-party or government charges are the responsibility of the customer, sender, or receiver as applicable. Swift Signate Ltd may require such charges to be paid before a shipment is released, delivered, returned, or further processed.
Carrier and Third-Party Services
Swift Signate Ltd may use airlines, courier partners, freight handlers, warehouse operators, customs agents, transport providers, and other third parties to process shipments. Shipment movement, release, delivery, inspection, and timelines may be subject to the rules, availability, restrictions, and decisions of those carriers, authorities, and service providers.
Customer Availability and Delivery
Customers must ensure that sender and receiver phone numbers, emails, addresses, and contact persons are correct and reachable. Swift Signate Ltd shall not be liable for failed pickup, failed delivery, delay, storage, return, or extra cost where the sender or receiver is unavailable, unreachable, refuses delivery, provides an incorrect address, or fails to supply required documents or payments.
Cancellations, Changes, and Refunds
Cancellation, refund, rerouting, address correction, shipment change, return, or redelivery requests are subject to review, carrier rules, shipment status, timing, and any costs already incurred. Fees already paid to carriers, agents, government bodies, or third-party providers may be non-refundable.
Acceptance of Terms
By submitting a booking request, handing over goods, making payment, uploading a receipt, or using Swift Signate Ltd shipment services, the customer confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
